A Surreal View of the Seattle Waterfront by Patricia Schnepf

Here is a brief update to my ultra-busy activities of 2014...

Press Release...

A Surreal View of the Seattle Waterfront” by Patricia Schnepf is now one of the images for the 2014 City Panorama Photo-mural Projects, a King County Metro/Photo Center NW public art project. The selected artworks will be installed by King County Metro between the fall of 2014 and 2015 around King County in Metro bus service and bus shelters, the majority of which are in Seattle, WA. According to “CafĂ© for Artists,” the Photo-mural Project, started in 2010 with a partnership between King County Metro and Photo Center NW, and was created to “…expand the public art scene in Seattle…”and to be a way “…to include art into daily life, to beautify the city, and to make new perspectives and ideas available to all…”

The artist, Patricia Schnepf, is originally from NY and moved to the Seattle area in June of 2011. She is a fine art photographer/photographic artist. Patricia’s palette extends from nature,to still life, to urban, to countrified landscapes, to the esoteric using styles which often incorporate texture to the feel of her images.  Patricia’s styles portray her intense interest in the subject as well as evoking an emotion/feeling, elatedness, or heightened imagination of the viewer. In 2008 she returned to her passion after detouring from her art for a number of years because of parenthood responsibilities and has since appeared in more than 18 live juried and internet-based juried shows including a month-long one-person show “Flowers of Impression(ism) at the Renaissance Court Gallery at the Chicago Cultural Center; received a grant from City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Illinois Arts Council, a state agency, which helped fund her one-person show; and has won awards for her art.  Patricia’s art appears in private collections worldwide.

As is currently understood, King County Metro will be printing the selected art for the installation and anyone desiring a print will need to contact King County Metro.  Details and contact information will be provided by the end of May 2014 by contacting the artist through this blog or via patricia-schnepf.fineartamerica.com.
